Designated by U.S. Department of
Commerce, Economic Development Administration, as the Economic
Development
District for the eight-county Lower Chattahoochee Region.
Provides technical assistance to county and regional development
authorities in terms of grant writing, grant administration, and
research on potential funding sources.
Provides technical assistance to the Southern Lower Chattahoochee
Council of Governments, Inc. (a Champion Community) in the form of
administrative assistance.
Provides economic development revolving loan fund assistance. Revolving
loan funds acquired from U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic
Development Administration, and U.S. Department of Agriculture. Rural
Development (RBEG).
Provides tourism coordination planning with Georgia Department of
Industry Trade and Tourism, Columbus Tourism Bureau, EDA, various
chambers of commerce, U.S. Highway 27 Association and U.S. Highway 82
Association.
Administers USDA RCDI
program for the four-county federally designated Champion Community.

khoward@lcrdc.org The final strategy will be adopted by the LCRDC Board
of Directors at their regular meeting on September 26, 2007. It will then
be sent to the Economic Development Administration
